Biography:
Marcos Lopes began his jiu-jitsu journey in 2009 in his hometown of Tabatinga, Amazonas, Brazil. In 2013, he moved to Manaus, the capital of his state, to train at a larger academy. After competing in the United States three times, Marcos decided to advance his career by moving to the USA in 2017. He trained for over two years at the prestigious Alliance Los Angeles and, by the end of 2020, relocated to San Diego. At Alliance San Diego, he earned his black belt under the legendary Johnny Faria in late 2021. Today, Marcos is a distinguished athlete and jiu-jitsu professor at Alliance San Diego, where he has earned numerous titles and continues to shape the next generation of champions.
